Items You Can Share with Roommates

Black Chalk Line
  • Electric Kettle

If you're sharing a kitchen with others, you definitely don't want to see the counter cluttered with multiple electric kettles. It's better to wait a few days until all your new roommates have arrived and then chip in together for one.

  • Peeler

You won't need a peeler every time you cook, so it's a good idea to share one with your roommates.

  • Water Filter

Most of the time, a water filter will be idle. Since it's not used often, it's better to share the cost with your roommates.

Items You'll Never Use

  • Air Fryer

Dorms usually have an oven, which can perform the same functions as an air fryer. Therefore, it's unnecessary to buy one.

  • Juicer

You rarely need a juicer to meet your daily dietary needs. It might only be used a few times a year, and since you won’t be staying in the dorm for many years, it’s wasteful to buy one that will barely be used before being discarded.

  • Lemon Squeezer and Garlic Press

Squeezing lemons and chopping garlic by hand is simple, and these gadgets just add to the pile of dishes you'll need to wash. They're likely to end up collecting dust in a corner.
