Step 1: Cook the Rice

  • Rinse the rice twice
  • Add water into the rice. Normally, the water-to-​rice ratio is 1:1, but for fried rice, use A BIT LESS ​water to make the rice drier. You can use a rice ​cup to measure the water.
  • Put the rice into a rice cooker for 10 minutes or a ​pressure cooker for 3 minutes and high pressure.

  • Use a fork, chopsticks, or a whisk to stir quickly in ​a circular motion in one direction.


Step 3: Fry the Rice

  • Heat oil on high heat, make sure the amount of oil ​is enough to coat the rice.
  • Add the egg
  • Add the rice when the egg until it's about 70-80% ​done.
  • Add salt and pepper, and keep frying until the salt, ​egg, and rice are evenly mixed
  • Finally, garnish the fried rice with spring onion to ​make it smell even better.
